Someone said "390 whp" ... 390 on the motor, a healthy stock Cobra will put 350ish to the ground...
A healthy stock cobra will put down more around 370...

For the money, i like the looks of the 05+ seeing as how i had the older ones and i hated the inside vs my new 06 gt

I can't believe people think the interior of the new edge is nice. have you never been inside a nice car since the mid-80's or what? if you say the 05/06's have a cheap plastic interior, then you can't really call a new edge interior anything more than a bag of burning dog **** on a doormat. it's the only interior that can come close to rivaling an f-body in terms of cheap-looking, uneven swap-meet grade plastic panels.

that said, get the cobra if you give a rat's *** about performance. if not, the 05/06 is a better all-around car with a platform that isn't left over from the late 70's and one hell of a developing aftermarket.

You are right. It seems all the low RWHP dyno'd 03/04's were done before the motor loosened up. Typically after breaking in the motor, people see upwards of 5RWHP gains. These 03/04 motors see anywhere from 15-20RWHP gains after breaking in, it's incredible!!

just think of the thousands of 05/06 mustangs youve seen driving around, then think of how many 03/04 cobras youve seen driving around.....................go with the cobra

plus the cobra kills the 05/06 in performance. and not only that, the cobra will hold its value way longer.

I have seen 6 or 7 bone stock 03/04 Cobras dyno, and I think on a nice, cold day, one of them made 363 RWHP.

I guess you can't really put a solid number on it, too many variables. Air quality, mileage, altitude, dyno, etc...

03/04 cobra for shure SLP has a performace pac that is 2k and will give you 575 flywheel horsepower which is about 500 to 515 to the wheels.

Defintiely 03/04 Cobra. I've driven several '05 stangs including the Saleen and I hate the interior. I know the new edge interior isnt any better quaility, but i dont think the new Stangs have any higher quality interiors to be honest. The bezel around the gauges is cheap plastic with sharp edges, the center console isnt styled wroth a ****, the rear seats dont fold down, they feel way too big when driving them, i hate the shifter, i could go on. we have a few used 05 and 06 stangs at my dealership and the front end already is making noise with 9-20k miles on it. I'd go with the Cobra hands down. Only way I'd suggest an '05 GT is if u wanted a nice touring car, otherwise no dice.

cobra looks sweet, preforms just as good, and is just awsome

S-197s are fugly, yet preform decent, but are still fulgy so id go with a cobra
