Default question for a mechanic?

For example: If someone is driving a stick and goes from 2 to 5th gear accidently and boggs a EFI 5.0 HO motor. To my knowledge it dosn't hurt the motor. How about the rest of the components?

No that shouldn't hurt anything, except your pride if there are witnesses around seeing you do it

On the other hand if you're flying along in 5th and downshift to 2nd (instead of 4th) & pop the clutch,, well you better hang on to something! lol

I'm sure we all have went from 2 to 5 in our time. I can't remember the last time I did it. I was primarly asking because my best friend has very little experence with stick and I sorta promised him I would let him drive my stang. I could see him in 4th at low rpm's then floring it leading to a bog. I only had stick since 16 my permit.
