Distributor Installation
Currently trying to install my MSD Pro-Billet Distributor
now i got to the point where im putting on the wires, ok i did that just switched the old from the new
now...
putting the cap back on
ok you know how its a red circle with little metal probes sticking out
one in the middle
and to the top left of that is a black circle thing
it wont let me put the black circle thing back where it used to be
because the cap's clamp things wont clamp down
should i rotate the plugs so it fits? does the black plug thing matter where it is?
oh and i did apply that grease stuff LIBERALLY and did have the rotors lined up from when i took it off to the new one...

LOL!
Ok what that black cap is a breather for moisture. It doesnt have jack **** to do with the way it runs.
As long as #1 is #1 youre alright.
I dont know about your msd but my duraspark has a #1 marked on the cap.

As long as that rotor is pointing to number 1 while at number 1 you are ok.

craappp...
just noticed something about it saying if u have a steel camshaft use a steel gear
if cast iron
use cast iron...
which comes on the MSD Pro-Billet Distributor?
i've got the Ford B303 camshaft and i believe thats CAST IRON...
damnit
is there any way i can take off the gear on the MSD and put my OLD gear from the stock distributor?

RE: Distributor Installation
FIND OUT BEFORE YOU RUN THAT THING!
It will in a matter of minutes chew the cam and distributor to hell and back!
You need a steel gear because you have a roller cam.Cast is for the oldschool blocks like mine.
Yank that damn thing and make sure its the correct one.
And dont even fire it up until you are 100% sure!
