Why won't my remote work..I tried a new remote battery and NO GOOD
Some guys were messing around my car and opened my gas tank door,
could they have messed with wires.. or do i need a fuse? Does any one know
Thank you for your help...P.S. thoes guys also had slashed a neighbors tires .

They may have put sand or something in your gas tank! If you run the car w/ sand in it... hello new motor! I dunno what options you have other than to take the risk or to drop your fuel tank and drain it?

I woulda called the cops... if they did anything or not...

 

they cant get to any wires through the gas tank door.... They might have just been sifening gas or something.. but something dropped into the tank is a possibility...

About your remote, it may need resetting... Is it a factory remote? Or aftermarket

 

If it is factory, either go to the local ford dealership and have them reprogram it or get a chilton book or maybe an owners manual and do it yourself. You might find out how to do it over the net.

 

Did you know the guys or were they just random people? I'd check out the tank before you try and start it just to be safe.

You know them?If they damaged your neighbors car one can only imagine what was done to yours.

Sugar is a more likely candidate for what they put in your car than sand.

Either way count on a new motor.Sand will literally bore it out and sugar glazes everything both equal a new motor.
