Default Noob question

I am looking at getting a Mustang probably in the 90 to 96 year range. Something I can take to the strip on the weekends but at the same time be street legal. Not looking to build a beast, but something with reasonable power. Maybe a supercharger. Do you guys have any recomendations on year, model, ect?
Thanx

92 GT/LX's seem to be the best value, 5.0, fox body design. 94-95 are the SN-95 body, still the 5.0 engine. In 96 they started the 4.6... Non-PI, it's something to avoid.

What do you define as "reasonable power?" You'll need to pick a HP goal before a good choice can be made, the 5.0 will be cheaper to mod either way.

Well I am in Colorado and it's about a mile above sea level so times aren't as good. My Pontiac is high 14.9 range in the qtr. The only way I am going much faster is with nitrous. One of our local GP guys went 12.6 and demolished his tranny. It's too expensive to be braking tranny's in a Grand Prix. That is why I was thinking about an older Mustang. Maybe something with a manual tranny. Are low 14's or maybe 13's possible with a street legal 5.0 Mustang? Is it horribly expensive to go that fast?

Go with a 92 LX 5.0, most bang for your buck
