Default Launch / Burnout practice

I would like to practice and work on my burnouts and launches. I pretty much would like to know how to better manipulate the clutch in any way. What would you guys suggest as far as technique goes? Especially any heel+toe work. How would you suggest I work up to it instead of just trying to do a burnout first thing, I wouldnt want to hurt my car in any way incase I mess up, so I wanted to take baby steps. Thanks for the help

I believe there is no easing into a burnout or the like. If you try to ease it in, your results will not be as expected. You may even double clutch it in fear. "Sidestep" it. A term where when your foot is on the clutch. When you are ready to release, slide you foot off the pedal to the left and let it fly out. Not a knee action, a slide off the pedal entirely. Have fun...although, I might add, it is abusive unless you are set up for the strip. A standard road car will do it, there's just no point. Good luck and have fun. If you blow the rear end, well....you'll just have to say. "Some guy told me it was abusive and I did it anyway. That will be 500 bucks please!"[sm=gears.gif]

Ok weasel I completly agree with you, but he's going to do it anyway so here you go

Clutch down with your left foot
Right heel on the brakes
Toe on the gas
hold your RPM's at like 2200
don't let go of the brakes
drop the clutch
and feather the gas
once again don't let go of the brakes

that's it

just sit there, rev it up high drop the clutch and give it gas. You hit the breaks and it puts stress on your clutch and say goodbye.
