Default need advise on full throttle tuning

i recently had my car tuned and my tech said i was gettin a ping at 4800rpm. He said he couldnt do a full throttle tune until i used all the gas and re-filled. Seems the reason i got the ping was bad gas. He checked the plugs and they were fine. If i race with this problem will i damage anything? Im really pissed cause the bad gas is from sittin in his shop for 8 months waitin on him to do work to the car (throttle body plenum and re pipin my supercharger). Any advise would be appreciated.

Ping is DEADLY BAD for an engine. Take his advice to heart!

You can syphon out the bad gas if that's the problem..

Did you not have premium gas in there. If you didnt that could be your problem.

Yea i had 93 in it but after sittin for 8 months (thanks to the ethanol in todays fuel) you loose octang. I have run about 3/4 of the tank out (of course the tank was full lol) im goin to put some 100 octanggt in today and see if the ping stops. My tech retarded my timing to see if it was the fuel and still needs too do the full throttle tune. My ? is if the ping is gone after i dump some 100 in it can i race today without the tune? After waiting all this time for my car i dont wanna blow a head gasket :P
