Default ABS/Traction Control Get it or Not?

just wondering if most of you have ABS/Traction Control on your cars. It's a difference of 700 benji's. Don't know if I want to cough up the cash for it. Do you think it's necessary. I usually downshift when stopping anyways, so i don't think i want it, but your input is much appreciated. Also, having to turn it off everytime you dig kinda sucks. Yeh or Neh?

I definetly wouldn't pay more for traction control. I wouldn't even want it. I guess it would save tires, because even if you're not burning out your tires will get worn from launching hard. Either way I would want it for any price even free.

I drive my car for normal purposes like going to work or the grocery or to the strip club. I have a different thought process. It's not all about launching the car.

I have spun out in other cars on wet or icy roads. What's your deductible on your insurance? Would it be cheaper to risk it and pay the deductible on collision repairs than dish out the money and reduced the risk of a collision?

Do you carry any passengers? Wife? Girlfriend? Daughter? Can you visualize locking up your tires several feet before hitting a pedestrian?

Like I said, my thought process is entirely different. I paid the extra to get traction control/ABS. It will also help on the resale.

I like total control over my car, sometimes it's not a bad thing to lock up as long as you're not on ice or something. If you don't panic you can still control your car. For me traction control and ABS aren't something I'd want.

abs would be nice but the thing with ford is you get abs you get trac control you don't get trac control you don't get abs. i wonder if they did this on purpose.

My car has the factory trac control on it and I think its well worth it, espically on wet roads when you are running high horsies and just the smallest tap of the gas makes the rear rubber spin. I like it a lot.

I agree.

I have played around in deserted lots with the traction control, and it really helps. Much easyer to bring the car into a straight line again.

Just remeber to shut it off when straight line racing. For everyday normal driving its nice, espcially after that long day when your a little bit tired and not paying enough attention
