WARNING:Bumper insert letters
Wanted to hopefully save someone some grief.
Bought some bumper inserts (stainless steel) from a reputable source. There were no instructions and it seemed straight forward enough to install them......stick the double sided tape on the back of the letters and plop them on. No Problem.
Little did I realize that surface that the letters go on is not completely flat. To avoid a huge problem, I should have dry fit them. I would have bent the letters with slight curves so that they contoured with the curves in the bumper. Mine are COBRA. I ended up bending the bottom of the B R and A considerably. I also had to curved all the letters crossways slighty.
Perhaps the thickness of the material is important. Mine are 14 gauge. I think some places have 16 gauge. I think the thinner the better.
Anyways, they look great. Hope this helps.
