depends on your definition of axle dampener, all Mustangs have a dampener (shock) that somehow attached to the rear end (some times to a plate bolted to the rear), the 1984 SVO had the first quad shock, about half way through the run

The "quad shocks" were on all V8 Mustangs from '87-'93(from what i do in fact know). I'm sure there are other applications.... Why are you asking? If i may ask that is.....

The a trip to the junkyard is in order to get your hands on the frame mounting brackets & the quads if in good shape. If you only need the quads; you'll have a difficult time getting them from most parts counters..... they will not have a clue..... But, if you ask for thier Gabriel shock manual, look up "steering stabilizers" in the index, go to that page? You will find a one line entry for the Mustang quad shocks with part number.....

Oh...... I don't doubt you mha man. I simply am speaking only of experience that I have & absolutely know. It would be irresponsible of me too state other years of this option being available if i did not know it as fact. I simply gave info that should meet this gentleman's needs....
