when i was doing my car a friend of mine had a chiltons manual about 400 pages of just pure body work and prep work ect. great book. helped me alot. do you have any experience with bondo?
do you have a picture of the damage? maybe we can give sum pointers and/or suggestions

most auto stores will have a body work specific book near the haynes/chiltons manuals. bondo and filler isn't bad for taking out small stuff, but lemme tell ya, someone replaced the d/s rear qtr and it's fugg'd! there's about 3/4 of an inch of bondo between the qtr and the paint! try to "pop" out the dents/bumps/waives as best yu can without further denting the panel, than go lightly put a little on, sand it down, check your lines. repete till the panel looks good, or just pay someone to do it for you.

paying someone defeats the purpose as part of buying a notch with just the body and frame is to build the entire car in my carport. thanks for the answers!
as for experience, i use bondo on fiberglass when i build boxes, but its a tad diff i would think when dealing with metal to be painted

as per the bondo/fillers, yeah, even the good guys use it. they use just enough to cover up imperfections and it lasts. my friend just re-did the rear half of his d/s rear qtr completely with bondo. he did a great job, but i HATE bondo. i hate it so much i just started a religion for those who hate it as much as myself. if you would like to be a prat of my religion, just continue to hate bondo.
