Default Tune-up

I just bought a LX 5.0 and it needs a tune-up. My question is what do I need to do a good tune-up and should I use performance parts instead of OEM parts to do it?

new dist. cap/rotor, ford racing 8.8 mm ignition wires, oil change, fuel filter change, sparkplugs(autolites), maybe reset the timing(13*)

is your engine stock?

yes it is all stock. It has about 141000 miles on it and has never been rebuilt. As far as I could tell there is only one spot leaking oil and it is the passenger side valve cover. nothing from the heads or oil pan. It just is a little rough when running at idle. I want to rebuild it and try to make around 350 wheel HP, but I have always been more interested in how the car handles more then power. So i will probably upgrade all the suspension first then rebuilt the engine. I just want to get it reliable and strong first with out getting to deep into modding it. Thanks for the help.
