Default Differential gasket

I am a novice when it comes to working on my Mustang. I have a leaky differential and I'm going to replace the gasket. Anything I should pay special attention to?

Nope pretty easy. Just clean both surfaces really good. Be careful when you pry of the cover you don't want to put a gouge on the surface. I always put silicone sealer on both sides of the gasket to help make sure I get no leaks. Also a good time to clean up the cover and paint it with black high temp paint (keeps it looking nice)

Does the fluid require a special limited slip additive? I'm pretty sure it does, might want to check.

Put in Royal Purple and you don't have to put the friction modifer in.

^^ yep or if you use "regular" gear oil you need to add 4oz of friction modifier.
