Default Porting?

Hey, anyone got any ballpark figures on how much it would cost to port a stock intake and/or heads and if it's worth it. Also I've seen those porting and polishing kits around but they look pretty useless, any thoughts?

I got a quote on polishing mine and just the port and polish on the heads was going to be about $700. If you want to shave the crankshaft then that will run about $1800.

Well VertStangGT86 depends what you want to get ported and polished, The heads and intake will run ya at couple hundred bucks, Ive got my 3.8 done for $100 each Item, Its really not that hard to do, I just didnt have time to do it. Well New stangs take more time, For the tear down time.

vert....I do porting all the time...and unless your going to put bigger valves in them it's kinda worthless..so I would just gasket match the heads and intake and so a lil smoothing pics below

if you need more than if would be cost effitive to go to a alum head..used heads can be had under 700.00 close to what new valves, custing seats, porting would cost you plus you lose about 100 pounds off the front worth about .10 sec and will handle better

Cool, if I've got a weekend with nothing to do this summer I might do that, I'll just save my money for some new stuff. Probably won't be doin much this summer though cause I'm gonna try and save some money for a second car so I don't have to drive mine in the winter, plus paint comes before any of this.
