i got a 94 3.8 and it knocks..ive narrowed it down that its probably a rod or a rod bearing. IF its a rod bearing, would it be possible to lower the oil pan enough to get up in there, take off the rod bolts and replace the bearing?

 

yes if the cranks not messed up??? if you cant get the pan off by jacking the motor up all the way you could drop the k member??good luck..just do it soon before its to late.
