I have a 89 LX and it was fine when I drove it the other day and then the next day I went out to start it and now all it will do is just crank the motor. Well I thought it might be the fuel pump so I purchased a new one and installed it....still nothing.....any ideas on what I should check?????

When you turn the key to ON (not start), do you hear the pump run? If not, check the fuses and relays in the circuit. If you do, you'll want to check the ignition.

 

Also if you do not hear the pump prime, i would check the inertia switch (left had side in the hatch behind the tail light).
