I have a 3.8 V6 in a 2000 Mustang. For graduation I am going to do an engine swap!!! Should I get a 4.6 and super, roush, or saleen charge it or buy a Mach1 and put a shaker hood with a supercharger??? Which one has more HP??? Will I have to change trannys??? I have the T-5 Manual, if I have to change trannys, then should I go ahead with a cobra and 6-speed or could i also use a cobra on the T-5??? Which is better, bigger, faster??? I need all info!!!

 

its gonna be alot of money and alot of work, i would either sell your 6er or is what i would do is just go F/I on your current 3.8, you will be faster and it will cost less then any of the above

if you can though, get a cobra motor (96-99 or 01 are N/A and are the same as the mach, 03-04 cobras have and eaton) you will need a T-56 tranny or a t-3650 which is a pos, new front suspention, new motor mounts, new tranny mounts, new shift linkage, new drive shaft, you will have to upgrade to an 8.8 rear or an IRS if you wanted to plus you will have to have a shop re do the computer, lots of work anywhere from 10k up.

 

just sell your 6 and find a used 8 it will be a lot cheaper that way.
