Default what carb?

Alrighty, will the edelbrock 1406 model carb be a good one for my application? The engine mods are:
GT40P heads ported
Comp Roller rockers
not sure on cam specs was told it came out of a sprint car engine, I have a new crane cam powermax H-272-2 I could install, but am lacking a new set of lifters.
Weiand stealth intake (also have a weiand x-cellerator intake)
Long tube headers, flowmasters
3.73 gears
I have a holley 750 on it now but it looks like it came from a JY and the smell when you get on it makes your eyes burn.
What do you guys think? also what kinda numbers would a combo like this be roughly?

650 holley or the 600 edel/carter (jet-up) will work, use the stealth intake. Need to know the cam to be able to give some kind of guesstimate. The 750 is running rich

I agree. 750 is too big. Holley 650 with mechanical secondaries would probably fit this application well.

Is there a way to figure what the cam specs are without taking it out of the car?

Crane has a website that should have this info.Or you could use a deree wheel and a dail indicator mounted so the indicator reads directly off the pushrods.Hydraulic lifters will bleed down under pressure so you might have to remove the rocker from the cylinder you are measuring to releive the spring pressure.Just mount the dial indicator so the plunger fits directly into the oil hole in the pushrod.
