Shift Question?

RE: Shift Question?
The correct answer is "all of the above"
A stock stang will probably shift itself (stick in D & enjoy the ride) just as quick as you could shift it manually.
But an auto modded with a shiftkit/tuner will probably be more responsive to you shifting it yourself. In fact, you might want to get a ratchet shifter for such a combo if you race a lot.

RE: Shift Question?
I have an auto with 3.73 gears and shift kit and I no first hand that shifting my 95 5.0 is quicker than leaving it in drive. When I manually shift it, I can scratch 2nd, leave it in drive and it doesnt. At the track- I was 4 tenths quicker or so shifting manually, but I wouldnt base it on that.
