Default General Nitrous question

I like to consider myself a rather knowledgeable person in reference to cars in general, but something that has always confused me is Nitrous. I understand what it is, in a general sense, but i dont eally get how it's utilized. Are there different type of injections? For instance, we all know that in the Gone in 60 seconds movie, theres a nitrous button that, when pressed, injects it. Is there a way to have a smaller, constant injection? Or, basically, having a switch on all the time but only injecting a small, continuous amount? The reason this confuses me is because all over the board, i see people suggesting blowers and nitrous as the first and easiest horsepower boosters. But if nitrous is only utilized by the push of a button, how can it be a constant horsepower gain?

Thanks, and excuse my stupidity.

Default RE: General Nitrous question

It's not meant to be a constant power supply, it is afterall, contained in a tank, so the supply is limited. The main reason it's so popular is because it THE cheapest way to add a ton power to a car.
