Burning Smell coming from engine area?
I have noticed just recently on my '98 GT convertible that after driving aggressively my car has a burning smell. Example: today I dropped from 5th to 4th gear to pass some cars on the freeway, I went from 60mph to around 80mph in 4th gear. I then started to smell something burrning. I had my windows up and my a/c on. I opened my windows and could smell it also. I also had this happen one day with the top down, I was flooring my pedal (almost) from 1st to 3rd gear in a parking lot. When I slowed the car down to a stop, my car smelled like it was on fire somewhere. Anybody have any suggestions? I don't have many mods, I do have: MAC catback w/flowmaster Super 40 mufflers (cats still installed) K&N air filter

make sure you dont have any oil leaks dripping on your exhaust, or any wires (like 02 sensor wires for example) close to your exhaust either. Thats the best suggestion I can give without actually looking at it.

Same thing happens in a friends Honda accord ..2002 V6... we passed a car at like 80 and he said "prepare for a smell like you've never smelt be4" and then it came like 10 secs later
