Default Fuel pump tech

My fuel pump is whining loudly from the second you turn the accessories on. I'm guessing that this isn't a good sign, and the stock pump is a piece anyway. My question is this- this winter has a lot in store for the car, not so much as to need a 255lph, but since I'm upgrading it seems that it would make sense to just toss a 255 in there and get it over with. Are there any problems with doing that? Well I lied, two more questions as well:
-Is there anything I should look into/out for when replacing the pump? (things that go wrong, other things I should upgrade (fuel injectors?) at the same time, etc.)
-You can find a Walbro 255 on Ebay for $100, is this a decent company?

Yeah, it's a good pump. The 255 will be fine now and for future upgrades. Get a new filler tube rubber seal and the metal ring that holds the tank unit in might be rusted. Other than that, should be cake!!

Changing the fuel filter would be wise at the same time. How much power are you planning on making?

Already on the to-do list Hard to say, it's a progressive effort of course, I don't know whether I'm going to stick with the 302 (read: for how long), but so far I'm planning on only buying parts (except headers) that will transfer to a 351. I'd like to be past 300rwhp by the end of winter, beyond that it's hard to tell when it'll make another jump

Well I made 500rwh with a 255 and a boost a pump, but just changed it to a 12an feed and eliminater pump because thats what limited the hp to 500rw.So you should be alright with that pump for a while
