Hey everyone, I just recently purchased a 2000 V6 3.8L mustang, now being a student, money's a little tight alough it is summer and i will be working a lot. I was woundering what mods i can put on my stang to give it a little extra power and maybe even make gas a little more cost efficent, i was thinking along the lines of a cool intake system or maybe a exhaust system but i dont know. I'm new and i need some advise, any suggestions?

 

well exhaust is a definete! A good cold air intake is also a good improvement! But a word to the wise, Modding a stang isnt cheap at all, espically since its a modular engine. You better start saving up.

 

Ok cool can you suggest any exhaust systems or any sites that i should be looking at? And would you recomend self installment or professional installment? i dont mind taking the time to install things.

 

Long tube headers, non-catted xpipe if youcan get away with it, and magnaflow cat back sound really good. You should be able to do everything yourself, except maybe the long tube headrs, sometimes you need to jack up the engine to get to them, other than that you should be able to do everything
