Default 95 getting real hot??

my 95 gt is getting real hot all of the sudden after about 15 minutes of driving it goes all the way to the red. it hasnt overheated yet but it gets really hot. I pulled off the upper radiator hose adn started it up and water came flowing out so i am assuming that the pump is pumping and the thermostat is open the only thing i have done to it lately is change the gears which i wouldnt see why it would make it run hot like that any suggestions i would grealty take

Low or worn out engine coolant or perhaps a sticking thermostat. They have been known to freeze in the closed position at times. I suggest you get an engine flush with new antifreeze. They will check your thermostat for you to see if you are experiencing any odd problems related to it. One other common problem would be a bad water pump. If it craps out you'll overheat for sure. All can be determined during your engine flush. Your entire cooling system is generally checked when you get a flush. They also check for radiator/hose leaks. Good luck!

Dude, if you could remove the upper hose with your bare hands the thermostat WAS NOT open. The stock thermostat opens at 192/195*. Well more than enough to burn your ***. At any rate, flush your coolant, use all brand new stuff, do not buy premix just do it your self, fill your cooling system, when the coolant reaches the top of the neck squeeze the upper radiator hose to "burp" the system, top off again, repeat the burp procedure. Start the car with the rad cap off, some coolant might spill so put your drain pan under that part, run the car until you see the coolant flowing in the radiator, when the thermostat opens the level should drop somewhat, top off as neccessary, the t-stat will close when you add the coolant, so youll have to wait until it opens again and top off some more. Repeat. This can take up to 1/2 an hour so be patient.

Exactly. i've also found that puring water directly into the motor through the radiator end of the upper hose will often prevent an air lock. i'd bet money it's the thermostat.

No, '93 was the last clutch fan. 94-95 are electric.

i used a glove to pull off the radiator hose and when i started it up fluid was pushing up and out of the water neck so i assumed it was all working should it come out with pressure or just kinda overflow? maybe teh thermostat is only half open. what would anyone recomend for temperature for a new one maybe ill just replace it and fill everything up and go from there. the overflow tank is showing full but i guess there could be an air pocket in there still what is the best way to get it all out if i change the thermostat.
