Default do i need casters

i'm thinking about lowering my stang, but i don't know if i need casters. will i have uneven tire wear if i don't get casters for alignment adjustments? also, if i lower the car about an inch all around do i need the caster? my main concern is will i get inside tire wear if i drop it an inch?

Get the car lowered and drive it for a week or so and take it in for a basic alignment ($40-50 bucks) and they will tell you if you need them or not. I think I am going to need them on mine because you can tell the tires are kicked out a little. []

it actually depends on how much you lower it. My friend lowered his an inch and he had it aligned and they told him he could go another 1/2 inch before it affects it that much. Maybe every car is different.

I lowered mine 2" front and rear and had to have them.. Got some caster camber plates from Steeda....

My tires wore bad on the inside for awhile... So yes youll need em unless you want to keep buying new tires

Mine is lowered an inch and three quarters(ish) and the front wheels are definitely kicked out a bit. The lowering springs came on the car, so I complained to the dealership and they said it was not a problem. Then they got their "front end guy" to drive it around the block. He didn't think their was a problem either.

I disagree...there IS a problem. Even 1 degree of negative/positive camber can seriously affect braking and tire wear. I'm getting caster/camber plates this week and returning the car to factory alignment specs.

ya my stang is lowered too and it definitely needs them, but I bought it lowered, but he lowered it toooo much [:@] so I'm gonna raise it up, and the springs and struts and shocks are shot too [:@] and since its been like that for so long I'll need new caster camber plates because they are so screwed up. so you def. need them if you have a lowered stang
