Default Ignition wires...

Is there any benefit to having 10.4mm wires as opposed to 8mm? Whats the reason for the bigger wire, better conductor??

In theory, more spark gets to the plug, therefor burning more fuel and air. Burn more fuel and air, get more HP and Torque. Well it's not really theory, it is true. However you can't just go by the advertised diameter of the plug wire. A thicker wire does no good if it's poorly insulated. IMHO, making sure you get a wire with great insulation is more important than the diameter itself. But if you can get a thicker wire with better insulation, then you should get a stronger spark.

But like anything else, it can cause problems if you're running too lean, etc. So I would make sure you are tuned nicely.

The real measure of a wire's worth is the resistance per foot.Spiral wound wire carries more energy than carbon (resistor) core wire.MSD,Moroso, and Accel are just a few that come to mind that sell spiral wound wire.Resistor wire will eventually burn out leaving a very high resistance carbon track the length of the wire. This is what causes the miss that occurs when the load is increased as in climbing hills or accelerating. It starts out at high RPM levels and comes down the RPM range as the wire deteriorates.
The thicker insulation would make the wire more durable in high heat environments but I think it's just a marketing gimmic myself.

I found this post looking for info before buying a set of wires...

One of my wires measures 2.61 Meg Ohms !!!! Car runs good considering

Based on the cost I am leaning toward a set of Ford Motorsports set..

Any info on those? Are they good

Thanks
