I am thinking about making a homemade CAI, but the filter will be housed in a custom made air box that will isolate and keep out hot air. The box will have one side missing and be attached to the fender well where the hole is located. Then I will attach the mass air flow sensor to the box, then a straight pipe up to a 45' coupling then to the TB.

I'll be making up my first trial box tomorrow and see how it turns out.

Less bends, better flow................
