$20 bucks for Test & Tune 5 times in one year.

Save it for the track and a radar detector will be the least of your concerns.

A majority of cops will leave the gun off until they see a speeder approaching, rendering radar useless until it's too late.

yea and even so...the ones for around $100 arent really worth it. the only time id spend money on one is paying like 300 or 400 for a top of the line one. but i have mods to buy lol.

but to try to answer your question...i have heard good things about the cobra thats around 100 or so.

man, our test and tunes are only $12

I bought a Cobra on ebay for $60, works very well. I hardly ever speed, i just like it as a sort of heads up which is why i didnt spend $400 on a Valentine 1. I personally think using a radar detector as an excuse to speed is stupid and a waste.

+1. They are useless because with all of the newer police radar units out there, they remain off until activated. And when they are off, they do not emit a signal. Once activated, your speed cna be caught, locked in, and the unit deactivated again all in less than 0.5 seconds. Your detector (no matter how good) won't help you unless it can detect the signal and you can immediately slow down..all in les than 1/2 second.

Waste of money, even the more expensive ones. And jammers? Talk about a joke, LoL.

As an afterthought... I ahve tested many MANY detectors and all the results were the same. Then again, no matter how expensive they are, they can't detect a radar that is off. And when it does go off, it's too late.

thats true if you're the only one being targeted, but if you're a few cars back and police radar hits cars up ahead, your detector will go off with enough warning for you to slow down. I'm not sure what kind of radar you're talkin bout, maybe laser? but around here i pass cops all the time with my radar detector going bonkers.

bell rx65, excort and valentine1 are supposed to be the best 3 -they are all between $300-$350. i use the rx65

fun fact: the escort has a model with red LEDs as well as one with blue LEDs -the gas used to make the blue LEDs is more expensive so that model costs $100 more than the red model with no performance difference.
