Default I saw a wierd setup on a mustang....

I was at a local car show yesterday and i saw a 94' 5.0, it was almost stock, except for exhaust and CIA. But what I saw that was so strange, was he had 2 CO2 cartreges pointed into his intake on the CIA(one on each sied of the CIA) like nitrous, he said he make more HP when he uses it because it puts colder more denser air and it acts like a ram air setup. He said he took apart a old pellet gun, and took out the values, then he put a solonid and release switch. It looked cool, but I dont know if it works? I assume cold air is denser, so = more power, I dont know...ive never heard of this before.

that wouldnt work. the C02 going in wouldnt be metered so it would lean out the a/f mixture

Leaner is more power just not safe for a engine, alot of people run there engines a lean as possible with out causeing damage.

running lean does not give more power...the most power comes from the perfect a/f ratio, not leaing it out.

maybe in a land rover. JK If a person was to lean there motor out as much as possible with out causeing damage That would be the perfact A/F ratio.

seems to me that CO2 would displace the O2 in the intake air stream making the mixture way too rich, not lean. cooler, denser air will make more power but not when the oxygen level is reduced by adding CO2.

The theory I beileve is that there are two oxygen atoms in C02. The C02 releases the oxygen in the explosion.

The C02 is compressed and contains more oxygen than regular air.

Oxygen always travels as O2 anyway, the only difference between the 2 molecules is the carbon atom.
