intake manifold explaination please
The intake manifold is the portion of metal/plastic bewteen your throttle body and plenum, and the heads. The air coming in from the throttle body is diverted in the intake manifold to each of the ports on the head for each cylinder... at the very end of the intake manifold (in the case of multi-port fuel injection) the fuel is sprayed in. That's all... simply, it divides the air that is coming in out to each cylinder.
Thats on multi port fuel injectiOn systems. On CFI or carbed applications, the intake manifold actually is what supplies the air/fuel mixture to the cylinders from the carb or CFI injector.
