Wrecked.. Need help finding parts
The other day I lost traction going around a 90 degree turn in the rain and slid strait into a raised concrete median. All the force hit on the drivers side front wheel which was cocked towards the direction I was trying to turn. The wheel is pushed back almost to the point where it would be rubbing the back of the wheel well. I believe the control arm and/or the sub frame is bent. I just bought the car a couple days before so I don't really know the best places to buy the parts I'll need to fix it. I'm also not sure what year mustangs will have compatable parts if I decide to hit up the junk yard (mine is a 2001 V6). Any help is appreciated. Any how-to's would be great as well.
Theres no need for an insurence claim, I can fix it myself for cheap without sending my rate through the roof. The accident shouldn't have happened I was going slow around the turn like I always do I just wasn't used to the completely bald tires my new car had on the front. I drove the car strait from the scene of the wreck to American Tire and bought 4 new tires.
sounds familar lol, I hit and put my stang in the front yard of a insurance company 2 weeks after purchasing mine, went from a dead stop at a light, and punched the gas, over corrected from the turn and hit the curb about 30 but since i had applied the brakes before hand it was more like 60 since all the wieght shifted and I had slid.
You may have bent the sub frame really, cracked the hub assembly, your rim possibly, all depending on how hard the impact was really. I had to get replacement parts for the passenger side and sub frame, upper/lower control arm, strut, hub assembly cause of a crack, bent the rim up front and blew out 2 tires.
Set me back 1200 and had to turn it into the insurance (progressive) They claimed my 95 3.8 5 speed as totaled cause they added a ton of other things wrong with the car as well, which was done to it before I had bought the car.
just letting ya know from experience.

its not the fault of the front tires, even bald they will hook up since the iron engine block is located directly on top of it, as a matter of fact, if you only have to change two tires, it is always better to replace the rear, since that is usually the loose end of the car, hence the drastic difference in the wieght bias. Must not be two bad since you drove it away from an accident.
You may want to take it to a shop to get a written estimate so you know exactly what i swrong with the car. They will list all that is wrong for you.

Well then I guess theres no point in ever buying new tires to go on the front of a car since that iron block will keep you on the road. I really just need to know what year mustangs will have parts I could use to fix whats wrong. Anyone?
