Default Brakes for a 94 GT

Hey Guys,

This is my first post. I have a question about replacing my brakes on my 94 GT. I now have 103,000 miles on my car and finally the ORIGINAL brakes need replacement. I don't have a lot of spare dollars to spend ($500-$600), so value is the overriding goal. Any recommendations for reasonably priced slotted rotors and pads? Thanks!

Bob

get some powerslot rotors with hawk brakes that will put you in your 500-600 dollar range.

YEP, powerslots are definitly a good idea for cheap yet reliable rotors. also try out VGX pads.

Do you HAVE to have slotted rotors?

If not, you can replace your rotors and pads much cheaper, like around 250-300 dollars.

Thanks for the replys.

No I don't currently have slotted rotors. Are they worth the extra $200 or so? If you believe the marketing information, as I don't have first hand experience, it would seem they are. I was hoping those with experience could tell me if the increase in cost is offset by the increase in performance.

What are the other cost effective alternatives? Are Brembo OEM replacement rotors good?
