I am looking to get a 90 or 91 mustang LX 5.0. I have read that they get 19mpg in the city and was wondering if this is at all correct? my mom has a 98 mustang GT 4.6L and she only gets 14 mpg and it is supposed to get better? so I was wondering if ford just really over shoots on their mileage? or if something would be wrong getting that kind of mileage? thanks.

 

19 in the city seems REALLY high for a 5.0. Are you sure that's not the LX 2.3 figure? I get anywhere between 8 in town and about 20 on the freeway, but mines not stock. Average is in the 12-14 range though.

That's for damn sure. I went on a trip in my stang and over 500 miles I averaged about 25mpg. Then in the city I get like 15 - 18, go figure.

 

even my infiniti say 24 city 32 hwy..**** like 15 city

 

my wife's corolla gets over 40 highway and over 30 in the city. of course, we never drive it
