Default question: adding alarm to 98 gt

Ok, I recently bought a 98 GT. It has the auto locks with the little remote control that allows to lock/unlock (as well as the panic button). i was wondering if there was any way i could tie in an alarm into the current system instead of getting a completely new system.

I believe that you are going to have to get a whole new system or at least that's what I would do...It's going to probably be cheaper but also wayy more effective if you get a whole new system. Just my opinion and anyone else can chime in but that's what I would do.

don't bother, insurance companies don't give discounts for them anymore since people don't bother looking at a car being stolen with the alarm blairing...get a Lojak

twister.. LOVE your avatar. ABA is some great beer. have you ever had their double bastard? oh man and their seasonal (i think it was called "vertical") beer was some of the best ever.

The alarm is actually more for me than anything. my apartment complex has been having some problems recently, and i usually park right outside my window.. more of a paranoid thang but ya. i was hoping it would be an easy ad-on. if not, i probably wouldn't do it.

As a cheat,, you could just buy a blinking LED light from an electronics shop & stick it on the console somewhere.. crooks will see it and "think" you've got an alarm

I installed a remote started and an alarm to my 98 gt...i don't use the old keypad anymore except to open the trunk. My new system took care of everything

You should be able to open the trunk with your new alarm...most alarms have that feature now-a-days. Usually you have to hold a button down for a few seconds...on my python/viper alarm you hold down the star key for a few
