Default Eaton Differential

I recently through a ring gear bolt around in my rear end little to my knowledge. So, I have decided to put an eaton posi-traction differential in, and was wandering if anyone knew where i could get one on discount. Any help or insight to my problem would be appreciated.

I have been looking in to finding a rear differential. But, I am not sure which is the best to go with for my dollar. Most people I have talked to say Eaton, Eaton, Eaton. But, I am not totally sure and I wouldn't be objectional to an Auburn or maybe even something else. If someone has some insight on a good rear end diff. please help.

I had an Auburn diff in my '88 while it was a street/strip car and it worked fine for me both on the street and at the track with a set of 3.73 rear gears. I only got rid of it when I went with a new 9" Ford rear with a spool and 4.56 gears.

well first you want to make sure it is rebuildable as some aren't..you could go with a truck posi which has 31 spline and you can rebuilt the disk pack and to tighten it up more use 1 or 2 of the best of the old ones(disks) and insert them with the new pack but not beside each other

if you go with the truck diff, you will need to get some 31 spline axles as the stock Stang axles are 28 spline.

Got one in my 'lark. 9" 31 spline moser axles 3.50 gears. Put it in in '99 when I blew the stock rear. Don't drive it as much since I joined the Navy in 2000. Very strong.
