I have a 2001 gt what are the best lowering springs to use? And how far is a safe distance to lower it?

How low of a drop are you looking for? Do you want to continue using your stock struts/shocks? It's usually recommended that you purchase aftermarket struts when you lower your car.

I really dont know how far I just want to close the gap between the tires and fender weld.
