Default TPS adjustment?

i noticed whenever my car is idleing..the car wants to shut off..the rpm goes down very low..however when i throw the car back in reverse or drive, the RPM serges up to 1500 than drops back all the down to about 5-600 rpm and begins to shake...

i got the codes read at my nearest autozone and the code said that the car was running to lean on bank 1 and 2.

i am thinking it could be a TPS adjustment problem...any ideas? thanks.

oh and by the way..i gave it a full tune up..spark plus and all the good stuff...recently got a new EGR valve...

Clean the MAF element with alcohol or electrical contact cleaner.BE CAREFUL those things are fragile. You could also have a vacuum leak somewhere in one of the hoses that run off the intake tube.If that doesn't help out try cleaning the IAC valve. You can slip the straw from a can of carb cleaner between the hose and throttle body, and with the engine warmed up and running, spray the carb cleaner into the hose. This will cause the engine to stumble and kick but will do a pretty good job of cleaning the IAC.You can also take it off and clean it or replacement is always an option.

When you make such a post, you need to offer as much and as COMPLETE information as possible.

Exactly what year model and engine are you working with? Exactly what were the code(s?)

Have you hooked up a vacuum gauge yet? If so what did you find?

Many Ford TPS are not adjustable, thus it would be nice to know year and engine. Is it safe to assume that this is a Mustang?
