Default CAI - Possible Problems?

Well I'm having a Magnaflow dual exhaust catback system put in my car this upcomming wed (14th). the guy asked me if i wanted a cold air intake in as well. He said he'd have to look at it etc, to figure out the cold air intake stuff. I asked what part he was going to use, he said he makes them custom. The place seems legit and of good quality. Though I've been looking around places and been seeing people have issues with their C.E.L.'s going off and stuff like that, or this "hydrolock" and engines going to crap and stuff like that. I'm new to cars and stuff so I don't know **** but basic maintnence. Anyone have some insider information by experience about such intake problems.... maintnence of the intakes, etc. I love my car alot so I don't want an performance part to make it go all ding bat.

Some of the "ram air" systems had a problem with sucking up water into the intake when its wet outside - thats what your referring to. CAI simply relocates the air filter into the fenderwell area.

ah... is it fairly easy to de-tach the filter itself? what's the best way to clean the thing, and how often to clean it? Sorry for the nub questions but.... i don't work on cars (i work on comps+networks *btw if u guys need comp/network support letme know. I'm a+ and network+ certified) oh and what about the air sensors, won't they make the computers act weird?

Re-oil the air filter if you have a washable air filter.

I have never had any problems with my cold air intake. The only thing you have to do is clean the filter every once in a while.
