honestly, i was gonna say the Skyline, cuz i love 'em, but, i didnt wanna get jumped by everybody.......but, i agree w/ D.......again. imports/ricers(honda, acura, neons, etc) will always be remember as economy cars. full street cars anyway, unless its a Mitsu GSX/3000GT VR-4 thats pushing over 800hp or something....but, V8's "own" the American Heritage of speed/hp/torque, etc, etc

well I have to admit...american cars will always reign in the 1/4....but what about rally or course driving....a skyline will OWN any american car in a course.......and no american muscle will touch an evo/sti in a rally....so to each their own....

I personally love all kinds of racing....I want a car that I can drag with but also take off road if I want and do street courses....which is why I like the AWD evo....champion rally car but still fast enough to compete with alot of cars in a 1/4 and handles good enough to take any course you throw at it.....maybe thats just my opinion

Not true about the course racing thing.
Can't remember who exactly posted it, but it was in the Off Topic section of this V6 stang beating on ferrari's and crap.
I think it was a Kenny Brown car or something like that.

Silly I tell you. Ever heard of a Ford GT? ZO6 Corvette? Hell, 3rd gen Camaros?

There's plenty of 4WD trucks with turbo's that'll run the **** outta those cars in the dirt....

alright let me jump in here with my first post I hate friggin imports!!! I do like the fact that Dodge made a import killer at a good price. I however would never own a car like that. Sorry but i want something that everyone is forgetting about TORQUE!!!!!!! Your SRT4 might be fast as hell when you tach it up and run the snot out of it but what is it like around town to drive. Just cruising at low speeds can you give it like 1/8 throttle and feel that twinge in your back from the torque pushing you back....i doubt it. I currently am looking for a stang to play with.....I have a 66 corvette and an 87 Turbo T. The turbo T is faster it will turn mid 12's to the Vette's who knows....mid 13's i'm guessing(never had the heart to beat on her for that long a distance lol) Point is though the Vette is so much more fun to drive. The power is right there all the time!!! Step on it a little bit and your gone....Buick you have to wait for the boost then it moves...plus if its a hot and humid day forget it the Vette will take it then.....In summary the little Neon is a cool car but the old statement i think still rings true....."There is no replacement fo displacement"

You made an excellent point about the torque. I forgot to mention that in my earlier posts. With any potent V8, you can cruise right up fairly steep hills in 5th gear while doing 45-50 mph with a stock rear end like 3.27's or 3.08's. Cruising around town, you just make it so that the gas pedal is ever so slightly pressed to hold speed, and when someone in front turns off, you don't even need to shift lower than 4th or 3rd at most. I love torque. HP is really just a statistical number that's calculated. Torque is what makes you go, most people forget. Torque is far more important than HP.
