i couldnt find my specific question
i also noticed there wasnt a specific forum for it either.
ok well, i've been going through some classes at NTI. and honestly i feel like my 302 is shot. like for to really tune it, i'd have to rebuild it entirely. SO.
I went on jegs, and i found that a 351 crate engine was like near 7 grand... same with a performance 302. ok so would it take 7 grand to start with a 302 block or a 351 block and build it from there? all aftermarket parts including some OEM parts that compliment the heavy modding?
its friday, we've been going through the basics.. when i say basics, if you dont know what a connecting rod is, or the A/F mixture, and how to get the CID through the proper calculations, your ganna fail the test today (friday).
so yeh, is building an engine from people's general experience more expensive than rebuilding, or buying a turn key or long block motor?

+1 Build it yourself. As long as you have a good block to work with, you're in good shape. Plus, that's kinda what you're going to school for ayway, isn't it?
Of course, putting together a stroker is always a good idea.

You could probably do it cheaper yourself, if you don't count time you've put in it. Labor cost is a big part of what you're paying for with a turn key engine.

+1, and you should be able to find a good quality short block 351 for less than 7k. Check out some of our sponsors.
