Need some help guys... Most of the time when I race my 01 cobra I get this burning smell, it's only after I really step on it... why? I don't burn out so it's not a smell from my tires burning out - it's more like coming from the engine - any clues? - smell bothers me and I want to know what it could be due to, or if it's norma - it's pretty strong too, it goes away after I slow down couple minutes after.

Might wanna check all your wiring harness's or maybe your belt could be rubbing something wrong.

Check to see if you have a small exhaust leak that could be burning something. Cant really think of anything else.

yea, it's crazy cuz it only does it when I step on it, but if I'm driving normal (speed limit) I don't get anything.

it's rea;;y hard to descrive, it smells like something is burning, it's not too too strong, but strong enough to catch my attention - I had this since I got the car and I'm not sure if it's normal or if it has to do with the way I drive my car when I'm racing it, or maybe of shifting at high RPM's, when racing what's the ideal RPM to shift between gears ? cuz I won't lie to you, some times I shift by the sound of the engine and don't even look at the RPM's

if you're feathering the clutch when you take off, it's burning clutch.

I might be a newbie but if it the same smell my 5.0 gets when you step on it mine just smells like it run a little rich i.e. when you floor it you get more gas and air in the engine and can run rich.

All cars have a natural 'odor' to them when you drive them hard.

You'll have to describe the smell...
