Hey guys I need 500RWHP[sm=smiley15.gif], and I was wondering what I would need to reach this goal. The car needs to remain a daily driver and street legal. Also I do not want to run nitrous until after I already have the horsepower. I definitely want to get blown but don't know which supercharger or turbo system to go with. Please help me with the parts I would need and a rough ballpark figure of the cost. Thanks.

4.6L Forged stroker kit to 5.0L... Add K/B blower at 12-15 PSI

P&P heads w/ VT or CC stage 2 or 3 blower cams...

That should get you WAY over 500hp

To go cheaply get forged internals, upgrade exhaust ( I'd run Bassani Mid Lengths, X-Pipe, SLP Catback), and then slap on a Procharger or a KB. Price: around $6000

Expensive: Do the Big Bore Modular like Acer says, can be done for about $1500 if you find the right place, then another $2000 for the crank, pistons, rods. Then do a cheaper blower setup or a say screw it and put a 150 shot of nitrous in. I think if you want reliability and street manners the nitrous would be a better route, get like 350 rwhp and let the nitrous do the rest when you want to race.

I was thinking about getting my 3.9L blocked bored to 4.2L and the guy told me it would take about a month. I don't know if that goes for all shops, but unless you have that kind of time to have your car sitting around you might want to either buy a block already bored or get a block from a wreaked 4.6 and have that one bored out.

the easiest way would be to put a cobra motor in it. upgrade rods/pistons. get a turbo kit from www.turbochargedpower.com, and with just the turbo, youde be over 500rwhp.

cobra, or forged steel crank, manley or eagle h beam or i beam rods, je pistons, arp bolts. Bore .30 0ver, get some good heads, blower cams(livernois) mod max springs, better lifters, then boost the crap out of a vortech with a 4"inch anderson boost pipe, or a kenne bell.

you dont have to bore the cylinders if they are in good condition, and use the h beams, not the i beams...and stay away from mod max valve springs, ive heard plenty of stories of them breaking.

In response to fast83gt, I need 500 or more rwhp because my buddy just bought a 98 cobra with a vortech blower and he's putting out 502rwhp, now I can't just stand by and let him have the fastest mustang in town, I NEED to have the fastest mustang, my life revolves around making money and putting it straight into my car. I just paid off my car, and by this comming spring, I wanna dominate my buddy. Of course I'm not going to tell him about my mods[sm=smiley15.gif], I'll let him figure it out for himself! I'm seroiusly thinking about a stroker kit 4.6L to 5.1L and the twin turbo system from turbochargedpower.com Through family donations I already have $5000 to spend, that cobra is going down[sm=smiley16.gif] Thanks to everyone who replied!
