Default Air Silencer Removal Question

Ok, I took the SOB out and there is definitely more power in the upper RPMs now. MY question though is that on the air silencer I could see where drops of water had dried up on the plastic. Since there is no plastic covering that part of the filter now am I going to be sucking water into my air intake with the silencer out?

No its not possible to suck water from under the hood or in the fender area - well unless you put a snorkel on the intake and drive it like a hummer

for anyone who is curious it only took me about 5 minutes to remove the airbox silencer, it's pretty idiot-proof. I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for a free easy first mod. The car's sound seems a bit louder now and revving is faster and there is more power in the upper RPM band. Definitely worth doing before you get CAI if you are broke like me.

The only thing about it is that you'll need to replace your air filter, or clean it more often - but it's a must do mod, easy, and unexpensive (FREE) LOL!
