Default 98 Mustang Security Chip

I have a 98 Mustang GT, but I bought it used, and I think the previous owner did some mods to the security system. A Clifford 800IQ system was added. The keys have the security chip removed. I was recently doing some work behind the steering wheel cover, and a security starter chip popped out. The car won't start wothout it. I found a place to mount it where it will work, but I'm afraid that it might fall off, and I wont be able to start my car. Until this happened, I never new this chip even existed. Not even sure how it works since it's wireless. I have 5 questions:

1. Where is the best place to mount this thing?
2. How should I mount it? Tape? Glue?
3. Can I buy a spare one somewhere?
4. I wouldn't mind disabling this security feature. Anyone know how I can do that?
5. What exactly is this thing and how does it work?

Thanks for your help.
