Default Insurance

Im looking to get a mustang and i have a few things i was wondering about. The younger guys who have one: How old are you and how much is your insurance? Does red really make a difference on price? Do red cars get pulled over more? Oh yea and this is for 1999+ V8s.

hey, im 22 and in nj.. i have a few points on my liscence. for my 89 gt conv. it was 3800 a year, minimum coverage with geico. and about the color.. insurance companies arent allow to raise your rates due to car color anymore(at least in nj).. but the cops pulling you over usually see your red sports car over any other car on the street.. my red 86 gt was a cop magnet..the white 89 wasnt too bad.. buttt my white 93 turns more heads than the 89 and gets more negative attention from the coppers.. just keep your eyes open n not the throttle.. be safe

As said, the color doesn`t matter.... Where you live, age, and driving record play a big part in your INS cost. Its gonna be different everywhere. Good luck.

As an alternate, do a google search and request a few quotes... I know some Ins companies will give them to you online...

Is the option of insuring it through one of your parents out of question? I've got a '91, insured under my dad who has 2 points, 750 deductible/500 comp is 385/6mo

Thats a very good idea if your a younger driver. If your dad is the primary driver of your mustang (according to the insurance) then you will save a bunch.
