Standard or Automatic?
What do you feel is the better way to go for Street racing?
Also, if you could recomend a tranny based on a 351W motor and racing from a stand still.
Currently using a C5 Tranny with 3.54 gear in the rear. B&M shifter
I personally was thinking that Standard would be the way to go since you can better manipulate the RPM upon start, though I have no raec experience.

The only way I would suggest an Auto trans would be for high power drag racers. When you need that consistant "stall" launch. For streets, nothin beats holdin 1st or 2nd and stompin on it.
An auto with a stall will work very well with a high torque engine. A manual can be tricky and hard to learn, but it is easier to modulate the power to the wheels.
Which you choose will depend on your experience. Unless you intend to spend some time practicing a manual, stick with an auto like the C6 or C4.

if your going serious power, go with a auto and get torque converter and some other junk which will cost you an arm and a leg. But for just street use and all which is what you want, get an auto. It would take all that junk to get a stock auto into manual territory.....so IMO stick with a manny
I currently have a C4 Tranny with a pretty high converter in it atm, or so it seems. What is the HP this tranny is capable to handle?
Also, what is considered Serious HP that would warrent moving to a Standard.
I have little to no experience in Launching but look forward to practicing!
