Austin Texas Mustang Performance shops?
Hey guys,
I'm doing the research now but will most likely start transforming the Mustang this fall. in the mean time I'm talking ot everyone I can about my GT since most of you know a lot of my tuning, tweeking, building has been on my truck in the past 5 years.
My question: Of anyone that lives in Austin, TX or surrounding areas, what performance shops do you trust in the area? Who should I stay away from?
I'm looking into: Exhaust, tb, plenum, maf, gears, posibly a Tweecer w/dyno tune and maybe next year a sc, sub-frame connectors and something to help with traction without compromising the daily driving feel or lowering it.
Thanks,
Race1

I should be moving to Austin next year if i get into UT, but the only respectable performance shops i know of there are for GM. I live in Houston, and we have a place called Houston Performance (look em up on google.com) that devotes itself stricly to Mustang performance. They can get and install the parts you need to make it down the track as fast as you want, but i believe they ask top dollar for service.

There is an Austin based forum www.austinareastangs.com
You could try to contact members there to get some feedback. I am new to the Mustang world as well, so I am looking for the same answers as you.

I'm in the North Austin/Round Rock area.
I've been looking into choices and here are a few. These are all suggestions from others and I haven't had the time to look into them all yet. I did go by Motion Dynamics and Prewitt but I don't have any personal experience with either doing works yet.
Pro Performance (shortblocks) http://www.propowerparts.com/ (which uses Mod max internals)
Mod Max (internals & valvetrain hardware) - http://www.modmaxracing.com/menu.htm

Fox Lake (2V & 4V heads) - http://www.fox-lake.com/

Prewitt Racing http://www.prewittracing.com/ -local
Houston Performance
Motion Dynamics http://www.motion-dynamics.net/ -local

Talk to Chris Johnson. He does beautiful work on high end cars...check out the portfolio on his website, and stop by his shop to check out some of his projects.
