Default CONFUSED ABOUT LIGHTS!?!

im getting a little confused about headlights and fog lights; and i was hoping someone could help me out! First, what i want is to my headlights to be VERY BRIGHT. And how do i do that? Would getting blacked out headlight assemblies affect this at all? Would getting the ultra bright bulbs make them bright enough? Or do i really have to get the HID kits? And is the difference in HID and not really worth it? Because just replacing the fog light bulbs made only a meduim difference i would say. Any ideas would help a lot thanks, because now that im talked out of shorties this is next on my list.

You can go with the brightest bulbs.
Blackouts will destroy any brightness gains.
special wiring needed for ultra brite blue.

Do you have to go to a state inspection facillity?
If so I'd stay away from the HID. There are
some high britness halogen bulbs which
may be a good start. Also brite
bulbs in the fogs.

Some folks like the silverstars. I have not tried them yet, but here's a thread about them:

I just got the Slyvania Silverstars on Saturday. You can definately notice a whiter light then the stock bulbs. as far as seeing farther, i wouldn't say that is true. I haven't really seen and difference. I used to have Nokya, and i could see way further with those. I believe they were almost twice the wattage as the Silverstars. The only thing i didn't like about the Nokya's were for some reason i couldn't see that well when it was raining or wet. Wait, let me rephrase that. to me it didn't illuminate the ground as much as the regular halogen bulbs did. if it wasn't raining though, i was constantly having people flash their lights at me. they were much much brighter.
the silverstars aren't that bad though. only drove 2 times in the dark with them but you can definately tell they are whiter.
