That would work fine, but you may find that it's cheaper just to but a catted X-pipe or catted H-pipe. They can be found $200 - $350 and already have high-flow cats on them. IMO that would be easier than trying to cut out 4 old ones, replace it with two, then make sure you have the right length midpipe, etc.

What would happen if I cut the 4 cats off and had 2 high flows welded in. This ? was posted on a mustang exhaust site and got me thinking...........
