I HAVE A 03 GT WITH AN AUTOMATIC. I AM VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE LOW END PICKUP AND "MUSHY" SHIFTS. I KNOW..... I'D MUCH RATHER HAVE A 5 SPEED, BUT I DONT, SO, I JUST WANTED OPINIONS ON WHAT MIGHT HELP OUT THE MOST ON GOOD ALL AROUND POWER WITHOUT LOSING MPG COMPLETELY. I HAVE LOOKED INTO REAR END GEARS (3.73's), PERFORMANCE CHIPS, AND TRANSMISSION KITS. ANY OPINIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Gears, tranny recalibration, and converter will have you lighting up the tires like a 5 speed and out shifting them too

 

If you get the right chip youll have your car shifting smoother than ever, combined w/ your other ideas you cant lose. go for it

Yeah, Im happy with the diablochip you can definately feel the difference when you plug it in. Diablosport is probably the most well known so youll have an easier time getting it programmed when you need it as compared to other lesser known chips. All chips do pretty much the same thing though so its up to you. Id reccommend Diablosport but then again im slightly biased.

 

Ok, this might be a stupid question, but this is the first time I've ever looked into chips. When you say "getting it programmed", do you mean that they will install a program at the factory based on what you want when you order it? What kind of options do you have when "thinking up" a program, if this is how it is done. I also assume that some chips already have a set program installed.?

 

It all depends on the chip really. Mostly by program i mean the chip is programmed so that it knows what mods you have and can adjust your engine accordingly giving you bigger gains. www.diablosport.com

 

will it hurt your warranty if you get it??? it has the defaults??? and if i set it back to defaults is there any way of ford knowing that i have it or messed with it??
